2020

From 3rd August pubs, cafes and restaurants in Wales are able to serve people indoors.

The further relaxation of lockdown restrictions which came into effect from 3rd August included:

  • groups of up to 30 people can meet outdoors
  • children under the age of 11 will be able to play with their friends
  • Bingo halls and bowling alleys are also now permitted to reopen.

Swimming pools, spas, indoor leisure centres, gyms and children's indoor play reopened on 10th August.

First Minister Mark Drakeford is reported to have said he wanted to allow people to enjoy socialising "while they can" although the new coronavirus restrictions in the north west of England had given him "pause for thought" before announcing changes to daily life in Wales. [Source BBC]
